Week of May 27

Students will check in their Chromebooks on Friday.  When it is time, we will call students down to the library by last name to check in their Chromebooks and chargers. Devices need to be clean and in working order to avoid a fine. Please make sure your student has completed the following before they turn in their Chromebook:

  • Check for the sticker on the outside with the student’s name on it.  If it has been removed, please come to the IMC to get a new one.

  • Check for the LMS barcode sticker and the ACSD#1 asset tag sticker.  If they have been removed, please come to the IMC for a new one.

  • Remove all personal stickers.

  • Check for any damage not reported at the beginning of the year.  Report any damage needing repairs to the IMC.

  • Clean the device, making sure to remove all sticker residue.  Be sure not to use anything with bleach or Clorox wipes to clean the Chromebook and its screen.

  • If a Chromebook has been lost, report this immediately to the IMC.

The last day of school for students is Tuesday, June 4th.  It is a half day for students and they will be dismissed at 11:23.  All students need to be picked up by 11:35 on the 4th.  Our Student Leadership Team is planning a field day for the last day.  Students will be with their S4S classes all morning playing games, having fun, and celebrating the conclusion of a successful school year. Students will be outside the vast majority of the day on the 4th.  They should dress appropriately for physical activity and the weather, wear sunscreen, and bring a water bottle.

Students will be cleaning out their lockers on Monday, June 3rd.  They will have access to their lockers on the last day of school.  Anything not taken out of lockers will be disposed of over the summer.  We will also be clearing out the lost and found next week.  Please ask your student to check for any missing items before the end of the school year.  Anything left in the lost and found after the last day of school will be disposed of.

We are getting very close to the end of this school season.  Please check your student’s grades in PowerSchool and identify any areas of concern.  We will have Scout Learning Lab Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday this week.  Let’s make it a great week and finish strong!

Week of May 20

The 39th Annual Hapi-ness 5K was held on Saturday. This event was created in 1987 to raise money for Hapi Patterson, a student who unfortunately passed away that year from Leukemia.  Each year the Hapi-ness raises money for families confronted by financial and medical hardships.  This year we raised over $16,000! Thank you to everyone who participated, donated, and volunteered.  Results can be found on the LMS Facebook page.

The last dance of this school season is on Thursday from 3:05-5:00 in the LMS gym. All LMS students in good standing are encouraged to attend.  Admission is $5.00 and concessions will be available.  Students attending the dance cannot ride the late bus and must be picked up by 5:15.  We encourage all students to come to the dance and get down with their bad selves as we celebrate the conclusion of another school year.

It’s crazy how close we are to the end of the year. Our last day with students is June 4th.  If your student needs additional support, Scout Learning Lab is available Monday-Thursday from 3:05-4:00 and there is a late bus.  Talk with your student and review their grades to help them finish on a high note.  Also, please keep sending your student to school, ready to learn each day through the last day. It matters.
