Tuesday is Bus Driver Appreciation Day.  Thank you to all of our drivers and aides.  We literally could not have school without you.  Our bus drivers are the first school employee our students see each morning and the last one they see after school setting the tone for the day.  Thank you for getting us where we need to go safely and efficiently.  You are appreciated!

All students will be taking the math WYTOPP test on Tuesday.   We appreciate the hard work and effort our students are putting into WYTOPP and we thank our families for getting their students to school on time, ready to test.  The vast majority of students will be done with WYTOPP for the year on Tuesday.  Students who were absent on one of the testing days, will be pulled to make up the tests they missed over the next week or so.  We are excited to see our students’ and teachers’ hard work reflected in our WYTOPP scores.

You can still register for the The 41st Annual Hapi-ness 5K on Saturday, May 9th at 8:00 am.  The Hapi-ness was started to honor Hapi Patterson, a Laramie Junior High student who was fighting cancer. Each year the proceeds from the Hapi-ness are used to support families in need. This year’s race will support Brody Bowlds, an 8th grade student who is battling acute myeloid leukemia.  Please watch this video to learn more about this year’s race and use this link to sign up.  You can run, jog, or walk the 5K, just be there.  We are hoping to set a new fundraising record in support of Brody and others in need in our community and we need your support to make that happen.

You can also support the Hapi-ness 5K by participating in Do Good with Chipotle on Wednesday May, 6th from 4-8 pm.  Order online for pick up using code YFJB7PT or show this flyer in the restaurant.  Twenty five percent of sales will be donated to the cause.  You can follow up Wednesdays' dinner with Crunch for a Cause on Friday, May 8th.  Go to Taco John’s from 5-9 pm to participate.  A portion of the sales will be donated to the Hapi-ness 5K.  We appreciate your continued support of this event as we look to set an all time fundraising record.

We are in the home stretch of this school season.  Let’s continue to work together, communicate, and give our best effort as we finish strong.  Make it a great week!

Week of April 20

We will take portions of the WYTOPP test on Tuesday and Wednesday this week and next week on Tuesday, April 28th.  All students will complete the reading test tomorrow.  On Wednesday, 7th graders will take the writing test and 8th graders will take the science test.  Sixth graders will not test on Wednesday. On the 28th, all students will take the math test. Please use this link to review the schedule for testing.

State tests like WYTOPP are very important to schools. They tell us how we are doing instructionally and help us measure students’ progress.  While they are very important, test results are only one data point.  Grades, attendance, behavior data, class assessments, and teacher observations are also ways we measure growth and progress.  All we ask is that students give their absolute best effort. How they score on the test is not as important as how hard they try and who they are.  Please encourage your student to get a good night’s sleep, charge their Chromebook, and come to school ready to do their best. If everyone does these things, WYTOPP will take care of itself.

The 41st Annual Hapi-ness 5K is Saturday, May 9th at 8:00 am.  The Hapi-ness was started to honor Hapi Patterson, a Laramie Junior High student who was fighting cancer. It’s going to be a great week of dominating the WYTOPP and working hard.  Thank you for supporting our school and your student.  You are appreciated.

The 41st Annual Hapi-ness 5K is Saturday, May 9th at 8:00 am.  The Hapi-ness was started to honor Hapi Patterson, a Laramie Junior High student who was fighting cancer. Please sign up today.

We will begin WYTOPP testing next week.  All students will take the reading test on Tuesday, April 21st.  Seventh grade students will take the writing test on Wednesday, April 22nd and eighth grade students will take the science test that day as well.  All students will take the math test on Tuesday, April 28th.  In order to accommodate testing, we will follow a modified bell schedule on testing days.  Students will test in their S4S classes and should report directly to S4S on testing days. Please use this link to review the bell schedule for testing.  We ask that families do everything in their power to have students at school during testing.  It is important that students come with their Chromebooks charged and ready to give their best effort.  The results are very helpful for our school as we seek to continuously improve.

We are celebrating our Battle of the Books team.  Last week they were victorious in the county competition.  These students worked very hard during lunch and outside of school to prepare for their competition and we are very proud of their efforts.  Way to go Scouts!

We are off to a fantastic start this week.  Thank you for your continued support and feedback.  Let’s continue to work together to finish this school season on a high note. Make it a great week!
