Week of February 3

Our students were very successful in demonstrating their learning during the first semester earning a school GPA of 3.32!  We will be recognizing our students that earned a place on the 3.5 and 4.0 Honor Rolls on Thursday at 6:30 pm in the LMS gym.  All students who made the Honor Roll and their families are cordially invited.  We hope to see everyone there as we celebrate the hard work and achievements of our students.  Please click this link to learn more about our First Semester Honor Roll Celebration on Thursday.

Scheduling for the 2025-2026 school year gets underway this week.  Current 6th and 7th grade students will receive scheduling information in S4S on Wednesday and have the opportunity to submit their course requests for next year during S4S on February 12th. Elective course options for 7th grade can be found here and elective course options for 8th grade can be found here.  More course information can be found in the 2025-2026 LMS curriculum guide. Current 8th grade students will meet with LHS staff during I/E on Wednesday.  There is an informational meeting for rising freshmen and their parents at LHS on February 10th.  We strongly encourage all current 8th graders and their families to attend.  Eighth graders will be given their LHS scheduling forms at that time. Those forms will be returned to the LMS main office.

We are celebrating our counselors during School Counselor Appreciation Week.  A huge thank you to Mrs. Plant, Mrs. Sommerfeld, and Mx. McCurdy for your dedication to our students and our school!

This month we are challenging our students to be kind to others, even when it’s hard. We are partnering with you to help your child grow in kindness. Most children learn new behaviors by copying those around them; we have a powerful opportunity and responsibility to teach kindness by example. This month, model kindness and empower your children to show compassion to those around them with these activities.  One way to model kindness is the 28 Days of Kindness Challenge.  Another way to spread kindness is for families to make a list of 25 random acts of kindness they can accomplish this month. Then, make a plan for how to do each act. At the end of the month, reflect and celebrate. Please read more about kindness in this month’s CKH newsletter.

Our week is off and running and it’s already fantastic.  The break in the winter weather has been a nice change. Thank you for your continued support and feedback. Make it a great week!
