It's Random Acts of Kindness Week. We are doing a lot of things at school to encourage kindness. Please take the time to talk to your student about kindness and think of a random act of kindness you can do as a family. Can you take a treat to a neighbor? Shovel someone's sidewalk? Paint a kind message on a rock and leave it for someone to find? There are countless ways to be kind. Choose a couple and brighten someone's day.
Students will be choosing their classes for next year in S4S next week. Current 8th grade students will meet with Mrs. Dale from the high school at that time to learn about their options and the LHS scheduling process. There is an informational meeting for rising freshmen and their families on February 23rd at 6:30 in the LHS theatre. All 8th graders and their families are strongly encouraged to attend.
Current 6th and 7th graders will make their course selections during S4S next Monday and Tuesday as well. Please review our curriculum guide with your student to determine what classes they would like to take. We do our best to get all students into their chosen electives, but that's not always possible. Please remind your student to select a couple of alternates.
There is an early release this Friday. All students will be dismissed at 11:23. There will be no Scout Learning Lab or late bus. All students not participating in school activities should head home immediately after school on Friday. There is no school on Monday, February 20th.
We are already in the 4th week of the second semester. Please review your student's grades with them and discuss their progress. Getting behind at the beginning of a semester can make it hard to catch up. It's been such a great year up to this point and we are looking forward to a strong finish. Thank you for your continued support and feedback.
